Term 4 random stuff

hi, Noah here, for my blog post I'm just going to be catching up on what has happened in the holidays and what I got up to, I hang out with some of my friends and also went down to spencer park with my cricket team and had a great time.

Triangle fractals

Hi bloggers! its been a while but I am here for another blog post, for you today I have my triangles fractal that we have done in maths. you may ask... What is afarctal? In mathematics, a fractal is a self-similar subset of Euclidean space whose fractal dimension strictly exceeds its topological dimension. Fractals appear the same at different levels, as illustrated in successive magnifications of the Mandelbrot set. here is a picture of the one I made and a digital fractal.

week 6 term 3 conclusion

hi bloggers, as the end of week 6 is just under our noses it is time for me to share what we have done this week, firstly it was our 2020 math week and have done some fun things in the toroa hub themed around the subject it is, we played some maths games which included countdown, maths baseball,  a treasure hunt with the kiwi hub and much more things. after we lunch the hub competed in a math question treasure hunt where we had to find the questions, answer them and then come back to the teachers to get marked. in the actual maths subject, we were working on probabilities in winning the lotto (which is just rich kids from Auckland) and different probabilities and percentages.

For literacy wearer working on our video essays on genres, I chose to do sci-fi as I watch my fair share of sci-fi movies.
for inquiry we have been working on rockets and space stuff, I'm gonna share the review on me Coll's and Caleb's test flight
Fins: The fins we had first were decent, they were aq good shape and were aerodynamic but were too flimsy and we didn’t waterproof them, so they went soggy, having 4 of them worked well, and we will keep 4 of the new ones

Nose cone: The nose cone we had was all goods, but we could have cut it a lot cleaner

Weight: We had three hex nuts in the nose of the rocket. We think that we do not have to make a change.

Water: We had 270ml of water in the rocket. and then on the second flight, we bumped it up to 300

Psi: We had 60 psi for the rocket

Flight success rating out of 10: 7.5 out of 10

that's all for this week ill have another one for next week! laterzzzz

Parachute experiment

Hello people, On Thursday last week we started to make parachutes and we were experimenting with what worked and what didn't, the parachute was carrying 2 hex nuts, the time our parachute took to fall from the ground wasn't great it was 1.69 seconds but it was only our second idea, sadly I don't have a picture of my parachute sadly.

Week 10 mashup

Hi bloggers

Today I have my mashup for week 1o to share! first up I have my horror poster that we made on the movie hocus pocus we watched for our genre study. The movie is about these teenagers and this little girl on Halloween going to this ancient witches house on the night of Halloween, one of the teenager's lights a special candle that has a black flame and will summon the old spirits of the 3 witches who lived in the house. I don't want to spoil too much but that is a pretty brief run down. That is my poster.

On a Wednesday we will do some different tasks than usual and for this week we made an ASCII binary bracelet with our initials in binary, here is a photo of the bracelet. For example, N is the 14th letter in the alphabet and in binary is 1110 and in ASCII is 1001110. Thank you for tuning in please leave a comment I would love to respond to you!

Verbal irony about my mistake :)

hey bloggers, me and my friend Max Haines teamed up and made a verbally ironic comic strip about how I made a bit of a bad choice, all I did really was I was talking back to a teacher and ended up having to clean up around the school for 150 minutes, here is the comic strip

Week 7 mash up

kia ora bloggers and welcome back to my blog, for the two blog posts that I have to do weekly I am just going to put the both of them into one and talk about everything that's gone on in the week! as I said in a recent post that I am making a bone carving (out of air-dry clay, not real bone) and I have finished it and it is looking pretty cool! everything on the carving means something to me but they aren't anything amazing, so the 2 BIG koru's on the left and right resemble my mum and dads side that make up my family and then the two little ones in the middle are me and my little brother Flynn. I know it isn't amazing but I don't care so boom!
In maths, we have been working on how to rig a game and the game that we were trying to rig which is being able to Winn EVERY time is called take three, it is where you have 21 counters and you have the choice of taking either 1 2 or 3 counters and you want to be the person to take the last amount of counters, to win you want to be the person who takes the last amount of counters so there are none left here is my slide on how I and my friend figured out how to win!

Week 9 mash up

Hello bloggers, today I have my week 9 mashup, this week I have finished my website and I am ready to share it with you guys, what we had to do the website on was our novel study wizard of oz that we were looking at through lockdown, on the site we had to write about 3 characters, themes and also symbols from the book, here is the link to my site and if there are any issues or questions PLEASE leave them in the comments and I will get back to you as soon as I can! Wizard of oz website

In math's this week we have been working on balancing equations, we did different types of questions one of them was about bubble gum, here is a slide with all my evidence and the questions. my slides are number 40 and 41:)

Dope week 5 mash up

Hello bloggers, hope everyone is having a good time back at school:) for the first week we haven't been doing ludicrous amounts of work but still enough for me to show all of you it! in maths, we have been looking at beds and learning how to use our laptops to solve the problem using python a type of coding, the site we use is kaggle which is super easy to use the website,

what we did was Mr g our maths teacher set us some questions and we had to solve them using kaggle, we put them into the text bar and then it would answer it, here is a quick photo of what the questions looked like in kaggle, that is how we had to put the question into kaggle and in the black box is the answer. I have really enjoyed using kaggle as it is very easy and fun to use and hope that we can keep using it.

in literacy, we have been making a google site on the wizard of oz, we have been writing about the characters, themes and signs. my site is still in work but I will try to update you guys:) the wizard of oz has been a good book and I have been enjoying it a lot, we have been doing some normal novel study but they have been really fun!

Lastly, to wrap this up I want to ask you guys some questions about lockdown? 1. what have you been doing to keep yourself entertained at home? 2. did you do some reading and what did you read? and lastly what was your favourite thing about being at home?
thank you for tuning in stay safe and byeee!

Drippy android robot

Hi bloggers, I am posting a math task that I did back a couple of weeks ago now, we had to use a website called tinker cad, it is a site where you can create something and then if you have a 3d printer you can download it and put the file into your printer and it prints it out for you. sadly I don't have one big oof. we had to show all of the measurements of our little robots and explaining it one by one. here is my photo and explanation.

I started off with two cylinders and sized them down to 12x10 and made them the legs then made a torso from another cylinder and sized it to 23x17 then got another to cylinders for the arms and changed them to 7x7 then got a sphere and just moved that up to the top of the torso, for the eyes I got two cubes and sized them right down to 6x3 and for a hat I grabbed a cone and moved that on top of his head

Book review for distance learning at home

Kia ora bloggers, due to the covid-19 right now in New Zealand we will be doing school work from home and blogging them, the task I chose for today was to write a book review on a book or movie and I have the book in mind. It is declared by Brendon McCullum the famous new Zealand cricket player. know if you know me I LOVE my cricket and when I heard my dad had finished the book I jumped to get ahold of it.

the book is about Brendon's life growing up and how he and also his brother Nathan grew as cricket stars. It is a great book if you are into cricket and is really funny so I recommend it. it really tells about Brendon himself on and of the field and since he is one of my favourite players it was really interesting to see what his childhood was like. If I had to give it a rating I would give it 5 out of 5.

I hope that you have enjoyed this book review, stay safe and be kind.

Mystery narrative

Hello my fellow blogging people, In literacy we have been working a little bit on mysteries, we watched some scooby do and chip n dale to give us an idea on what we were doing and what a good mystery was like, we made an imaginary character to be the Main Character, here is my narrative.
The stolen Shrek chains

On a lovely calm, Sunday Paul was awoken by a raver interesting noise as he opened his eyes he found Bobby his sausage dog towering over him begging him to take him out on a walk, so he got out of bed, had some breakfast got dressed and headed out, it was really warmer than usual and it was really muggy so wasn’t amazing but was really calm. On the way, they stopped in at a cafe for a drink, after the cafe they headed for the dog park for a quick run around before they went home.

While Bobby and Paul were at the dog park they met there biggest enemy from the dog fashion show CLARK they never got along they stared each other down right into there soul,
“Bobby lets go, buddy,” Paul asked
They strode home. When they got back paul had a look where his Shrek chain was and it was gone and when he looked at the case it was unlocked
”HOW DID THIS HAPPEN” paul yelled
And Bobby’s was gone too, they had to get to the bottom of this! Because coming up is a dog fashion show and if they win it would be there 10th consecutive win and it was a big one too and very competitive
Paul decided to ring the police to get an investigation on who stole them and where they are.

The police arrived and asked some questions, in conclusion, they got some detectives to come in and have a look at some fingerprints and got some evidence, after a while they hadn’t found any evidence no fingerprints nothing at all,
“ they must have worn gloves because if there is no evidence at all,” said paul
So they decided to go to the pinboard to see if they could get some answers? They went into what time they were out if they sore anyone that they knew while they were out, the only people they saw where some friends that they weren't too close with and their dog fashion show enemy! The only person they could think of was their enemy so they thought the only person that would have stolen the chains so they went to his house and asked him some questions but got nothing to help so they went back to the pinboard when paul got a phone call from there enemy’s cousin to say he might know something that might help so he came over to help but he was being really annoying and a bit suspicious almost and then when they raped it up for the night the cousin rob let paul and boobys enemy Craig on some secrets to let him know what they might do or search so he can win the fashion shows and lose their winning streak.

The next day came and they searched the house of everyone one who had competed against bobby and paul in the fashion shows to see if they have the chains and funnily enough they found them and you wanna guess who it was...CRAIG THE ENEMY! And once they had found it out Rob said I told him what and where you would search and look for the chains but that was all false and were the EXACT locations where you were going to look.

In the end, he was sentenced to 3 years in prison for robbery and also the adfc (America dog fashion council) found out he was going to pay the judges with money to give them low scores so he could win so he also fined 50,000 dollars and was banned from any more fashion shows same with the judgers.

The aggressive waves crash over the top.
The perfectly rounded and edged rocks stacked
My dad be my side stunned
One rock came out to me
Time away from Greymouth top10 camp
